Assistant Accountant

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a business and become a key part of their finance team. This is a varied, hands-on role offering exposure across the wider finance function and would be a great opportunity for someone looking to continue developing their accounting experience and progress their career.

The Role

- Working as part of the finance team, you will support across a broad range of accounting duties, including:

- Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register and preparing monthly depreciation journals

- Preparing monthly prepayments and accruals schedules

- Posting payments and completing bank and cash reconciliations

- Posting overhead invoices and reconciling supplier statements

- Investigating and resolving supplier account discrepancies

- Supporting accounts receivable, including reconciliations and investigating discrepancies

- Collating monthly credit card expenses and processing weekly expense claims

- Assisting the Credit Controller where required

- Analysing accounts and providing additional finance support when required

- Supporting with general administration across the wider business

About You

- Good all-round accounting and finance experience

- Comprehensive understanding of double-entry bookkeeping

- Strong Excel skills

- Confident completing reconciliations and investigating discrepancies

- Organised with excellent attention to detail

- Keen to develop your accounting knowledge and take on additional responsibility

- Looking for a role offering longer-term progression and development
