Automated Machine Operator

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Automated Machine Operator for a busy, modern manufacturing business in the Barlborough area. This long-term role offers £13.89 per hour on a 4 on 4 off continental shift pattern, comprising two 12-hour days (6am–6pm) and two 12-hour nights (6pm–6am), followed by four days off. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring automated production and assembly machinery, setting up machines and carrying out changeovers and adjustments, monitoring production output and maintaining quality standards, and carrying out basic mechanical fault finding and first-line maintenance. Candidates should have previous automated production or manufacturing experience.

Machine Operator - Chesterfield

£13.89 per hour | 4 On 4 Off | Days & Nights

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator to join a busy, modern manufacturing business based in the Chesterfield area.

This is a long-term opportunity for someone with previous automated production or manufacturing experience, confident operating machinery, carrying out changeovers and identifying mechanical faults.

The Role:

- Operating and monitoring automated production and assembly machinery
- Setting up machines and carrying out changeovers and adjustments
- Monitoring production output and maintaining quality standards
- Carrying out basic mechanical fault finding and first-line maintenance
- Identifying product defects and reporting issues
- Completing production paperwork and maintaining a clean, safe working area

Hours & Pay:

- £13.89 per hour
- 4 on 4 off continental shift pattern
- 2 x 12-hour days (6am - 6pm)
- 2 x 12-hour nights (6pm - 6am)
- 4 days off

What We're Looking For:

- Minimum 2 years' automated machine operating experience
- Minimum 2 years' manufacturing or production experience
- Experience with machine setups, changeovers and fault finding
- Good understanding of quality control and health & safety
- Reliable, flexible and hardworking
- Full UK driving licence and own transport essential
