About us

Simtec tests the materials that go into some of the most important construction and civil engineering projects, helping our customers make sure the products they use are safe, reliable and fit for purpose.

We're an established and growing business with three sites across Ireland and a fourth currently in development, alongside offices in Antrim and Dublin. Our local businesses are busy, successful and continuing to grow - and we're now investing in the people who will help us take that growth to the next level.

This is an exciting time to join Simtec. We're not simply looking to maintain what we already have; we're looking to grow our operations, strengthen our teams and build on the relationships we have with our customers.

The role is an important part of that next stage of growth. You'll be joining a business where there is genuine opportunity to make an impact, take ownership and play a key part in helping our Irish operations continue to develop.

The role

This is a brand-new role, created for growth. It's an out and out sales role, not account management. You'll report to our Sales Director, with a catch-up once or twice a week.

Success looks like a full pipeline and new revenue landing across Ireland.

What you'll do

You'll:

  • Find, approach and win new construction and civils customers across Ireland
  • Build your own territory plan, target list and pipeline
  • Grow spend across an inherited book of existing accounts
  • Lead quotes, commercial negotiation and closing
  • Bring prospects to our sites and hand new customers to the technical team
  • Work with the site leads on capacity, so you sell what we can deliver
  • Keep CRM records accurate and current
  • Hit agreed revenue and KPI targets

What you'll bring

Essential:

  • Three years or more in B2B business development or field sales, with a proven record of winning new business
  • Direct sales experience in materials testing, construction or civil engineering is a must.
  • Experience running your own territory and pipeline with minimal supervision
  • A full driving licence, valid in the UK and Ireland

Useful, not essential:

  • Existing contacts with contractors, consultants or civils clients in Ireland
  • Knowledge of both the Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland markets

What else is in it for you

Financial: Company pension, plus a laptop and mobile phone.

Development: Time at our Irish sites when you start, so you know exactly what you're selling.

Flexibility: Home-based, setting your own diary. Support is on hand without anyone breathing down your neck.

Working arrangements

Full-time, with most of your week out with customers across Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Living within reach of our Antrim or Dublin office is a plus, not a deal breaker.
