Fire and Security Engineer

This permanent Fire and Security Engineer role covers Essex and surrounding areas, working across commercial, residential, healthcare and education sectors. The position involves installation, servicing and maintenance of fire alarm and security systems, alongside fault finding and diagnosis of system issues. Additional duties include planned preventative maintenance, reactive call-outs, and work on fire alarm, CCTV and access control systems. The engineer will complete service reports and paperwork accurately and liaise professionally with customers and site teams. Salary is £45,000 to £50,000 per annum.

The Role
We are currently recruiting for experienced Fire & Security Engineers to join an established and growing engineering business, covering projects and service works across Essex and the surrounding areas.
This is a permanent opportunity for an engineer with a strong background in fire alarm and/or security systems, looking to join a professional team with a varied workload across commercial, residential, healthcare, education and other sectors.
The role will involve a mixture of installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding and reactive works, depending on your experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation, servicing and maintenance of fire alarm and security systems
• Fault finding and diagnosis of system issues
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive call-outs
• Working on a range of fire alarm, CCTV, access control and associated security systems
• Completing service reports and relevant paperwork accurately
• Liaising professionally with customers and site teams
• Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with relevant industry standards
• Supporting installation and commissioning works where required
• Working safely and professionally at customer sites

About You

We are looking for engineers with previous experience within the Fire & Security industry.
You may be a Fire Alarm Engineer, Security Engineer or a multi-skilled Fire & Security Engineer.
Ideally, you will have experience with some of the following:

• Fire alarm systems
• CCTV
• Access control
• Door entry
• Intruder alarm systems
• Fault finding and diagnostics
• Installation, servicing and maintenance

Relevant industry qualifications and manufacturer experience would be advantageous, although candidates with strong practical experience will also be considered.
A full UK driving licence is required.
