About this role

This is a site-based Health and Safety Advisor contract in Frankley, Birmingham, supporting a major HS2 civils project. The role pays £500 per day on a six-month contract, inside IR35 via umbrella, with accommodation not provided. Working closely with site teams, contractors and the wider HSEQ function, you will carry out site inspections and compliance checks, review and update RAMS, support task briefings and site safety activity, and monitor plant and labour compliance. You will also identify and close out health and safety actions, support incident investigations, and assist with audit preparation and wider HSEQ reviews.

Safety Talent are recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to support a major HS2 project in Birmingham.

This is a site-based contract role working within a major civils environment. You will support day-to-day health and safety activity across the project, working closely with site teams, contractors and the wider HSEQ function.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out site inspections and compliance checks
  • Reviewing and updating RAMS
  • Supporting task briefings and site safety activity
  • Monitoring plant and labour compliance
  • Identifying and closing out health and safety actions
  • Supporting incident investigations where required
  • Assisting with audit preparation and wider HSEQ reviews
  • Working with site teams to maintain project and client standards

Requirements

We are looking for someone with a strong background in construction, major civils or infrastructure.

Experience on HS2, tunnelling or other large-scale infrastructure projects would be advantageous, but is not essential if you have relevant experience working within complex, high-risk construction environments.

You will need to be comfortable working on site, communicating with contractors and challenging standards where required.
