Heavy Plant Engineer

This is a permanent, workshop-based Heavy Plant Engineer position in Aveley with an established construction and civil engineering business that operates an extensive fleet of heavy plant machinery. Working Monday to Friday, you will maintain and repair a varied fleet including excavators, dumpers, rollers and other plant equipment. Responsibilities include servicing and maintaining heavy plant machinery, diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults, carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance, and ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard. You will also help minimise equipment downtime. Previous experience in a similar role is ideally required.

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 basic + overtime at time and a half

About the Role - Heavy Plant Engineer

As a Heavy Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of heavy construction machinery, including excavators, dumpers, rollers and other plant equipment.

Working from the company's workshop near Aveley, your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing and maintaining heavy plant machinery.

• Diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic faults.

• Carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance.

• Identifying faults and completing effective repairs.

• Ensuring machinery is maintained to a high standard.

About You

To be successful as a Heavy Plant Engineer, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience working on heavy plant or agricultural machinery.

• Good mechanical and fault-finding abilities.

• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing machinery.

• A practical, hands-on approach to engineering.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A proactive attitude and commitment to high standards.
