Nursery Assistant

This flexible, temporary Nursery Assistant role is based in Stoke-on-Trent, working across partnership nurseries and pre-schools in the surrounding Staffordshire areas. The position pays £14.00 to £15.00 per hour and suits experienced Nursery Assistants seeking varied experience, work-life balance, or a return to the workforce on a full or part-time basis. Responsibilities include working alongside teachers and fellow practitioners to deliver engaging EYFS appropriate lessons and activities, providing high standards of care within a safe and nurturing environment, and supporting children's early literacy, numeracy, communication and personal development. Applicants must hold a minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare or equivalent.

Academics are currently looking for dedicated and qualified Nursery Assistants to join our team. You will work across our partnership nurseries and pre-school's in Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding Staffordshire areas.

Responsibilities of a Nursery Assistant:

• Work alongside teachers and fellow assistants/practitioners to deliver engaging EYFS appropriate lessons and activities.
• Provide high standards of care, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
• Supporting children's early literacy, numeracy, communication, and personal development.
• To encourage independence, positive behaviour, and social interaction.
• To be familiar and confident in delivering of the EYFS curriculum.

For this role, applicants who apply must have:

• A minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent).
• A good level of literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 or Grade C and above/Functional Skills Level 2 in the minimum required).
• Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or primary school setting (in the UK), which can be evidenced through referencing.
• Be happy to travel and to be able to get to our partnership nurseries and pre-schools in Stoke-on-Trent (and the surrounding Staffordshire areas) by 8.30am with sometimes only 30-60 minute's notice for our on the day supply requirements.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
• Paediatric First Aid (or to be willing to work towards).

Please be aware that your daily rate will be dependent upon experience, prior qualifications, training, and the client rate that is currently available.
