Ocean Export Operator

This Ocean Export Operator role is based in Moss Nook, working Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00, with a salary of £34,000 to £36,000 per annum. The position sits within an established international freight forwarding group, focusing primarily on ocean export operations across the Middle East and other global trade lanes. Responsibilities include managing end-to-end ocean export shipments, handling bookings with shipping lines and overseas agents, preparing and checking export documentation, and coordinating with customers, suppliers, carriers and international offices. The role also involves monitoring shipment progress, keeping customers updated, and managing schedules, cut-offs and deadlines.

You'll be joining a busy and well-established operation where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of shipments from start to finish, working with international customers, overseas offices, agents and carriers.

The Role

As an Ocean Export Operator, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of ocean export shipments, ensuring everything runs smoothly from booking through to final departure.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing end-to-end ocean export shipments
• Handling bookings with shipping lines and overseas agents
• Preparing and checking export documentation
• Coordinating with customers, suppliers, carriers and international offices
• Monitoring shipment progress and keeping customers updated
• Managing schedules, cut-offs and deadlines
• Dealing with any operational issues and providing solutions
• Ensuring shipments are processed accurately and efficiently
• Working predominantly across Middle East trade lanes, alongside wider global export movements

About You

We're looking for someone with solid experience within ocean freight forwarding, ideally with a strong understanding of export operations.

You'll need to be confident managing your own workload, communicating with customers and overseas partners, and dealing with the pressures of a busy operational environment.

Experience across Middle East trade lanes would be particularly advantageous, although wider ocean export experience will also be considered.
