Job Description

Adecco is delighted to be assisting one of our smallest public sector clients as they look to hire a proactive and tenant-focused Income Co-ordinator on a part time basis (3 days/21 hours each week), paying £22k per annum (the full time full time equivalent would be -36,666.67) to support effective rent collection, arrears recovery and tenancy sustainment.

Based in East London, the successful candidate will work on a hybrid basis and cover just 328 properties within the borough. They will monitor rent and service charge accounts, work with tenants at an early stage to prevent arrears escalating, agree affordable repayment plans and signpost tenants to welfare benefit, debt advice and financial support where needed. They will also prepare arrears correspondence, maintain accurate records and support legal action and attend court to represent the organisation.

We are looking for someone with proven experience of income recovery and rent arrears management up to court action. You will have strong communication and negotiation skills, good numeracy, confidence using Microsoft Office 365 applications (including Word, Excel, and Teams) which is essential and a firm but fair approach when working with tenants. The role also includes taking part in the organisation's out of hours on call rota.

This is a great opportunity to make a positive difference in our community based housing client, helping tenants sustain their homes while supporting the organisation to maintain strong income performance. Please note, rent arrears are currently very small so this is a great opportunity for an established income recovery professional who is genuinely keen to work on a part time basis for a small housing client. Our client is values driven, tenant-focussed and has a strong commitment to tackling inequality and promoting inclusion

Only applicants who feel they meet the above criteria need apply.
