Postal Delivery Driver

This role is for a Postal Delivery Driver based in Chippenham on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to designated addresses, and will need a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to navigate various routes while adhering to safety regulations. This is a hybrid position, and you may be required to work either a walking or driving route. Duties include operating a delivery vehicle safely and in compliance with traffic laws, sorting and organising mail prior to delivery, and assisting with the loading and unloading of mail from vehicles, which may involve heavy lifting.

Duties

• Deliver mail and packages to designated addresses in a timely manner.

• Maintain records of deliveries and returns, reporting any discrepancies as necessary.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of mail from vehicles, which may involve heavy lifting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred, with a valid driving licence.
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations is advantageous.
• Experience in warehouse operations is a plus, as it aids in understanding logistics.
• Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during the loading and unloading of mail.
