Work Lyf Group are recruiting for a Purchasing & Operations Coordinator on behalf of our client based in Stone, Staffordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business in a varied and hands-on role, supporting purchasing, stock management, shipping and sales operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring materials, stock and customer orders are managed efficiently while supporting both suppliers and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise purchase orders and manage supplier accounts
  • Chase suppliers for lead times, delivery dates, and order confirmations
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders to meet customer demand
  • Receive goods into the business and accurately update internal systems
  • Process customer sales orders and liaise with the sales team regarding stock availability and delivery schedules
  • Organise UK and international shipments through couriers and freight forwarders
  • Track deliveries and resolve shipment-related queries
  • Prepare export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, customs documentation, and commodity codes
  • Handle customer and carrier enquiries relating to customs and shipping
  • Support the sales team with pricing, stock, and delivery information
  • Manage returns and product-related administration
  • Ensure supplier invoices and delivery information are passed to accounts for processing
  • Maintain accurate records using ERP systems
  • Ensure warehouse and shipping areas remain organised and compliant with company procedures

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, operations, or export administration
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, or distribution environment preferred
  • Knowledge of export procedures, customs documentation and international shipping would be highly advantageous
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
  • Confident working with ERP systems (SAP experience advantageous)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proactive approach with strong attention to detail
