About this role

This is a full-time, temporary ongoing SEN Teaching Assistant position in Rochdale, paying £109 to £110 per day depending on experience. The role involves providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and learning difficulties. The successful candidate will help pupils engage with learning, develop confidence and independence, and support positive behaviour and emotional regulation. They will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support, assist with classroom activities and adapted learning, and build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.

Are you a caring, patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

We're working with a welcoming SEN school in Rochdale that is looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team and provide valuable support to pupils with additional needs.



The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
  • Support children with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and learning difficulties
  • Help pupils engage with learning and develop their confidence and independence
  • Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver personalised support
  • Assist with classroom activities and adapted learning
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils


The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • A calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • Confident supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis
  • Good understanding of behaviour management and safeguarding
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A relevant TA/SEN qualification is desirable but not essential
