Senior Enterprise Architect

This is a contract Senior Enterprise Architect role based in Reading, with remote-first working across the UK. Operating as deputy to the Architecture Lead, you will provide architecture governance, assurance and strategic direction across a complex landscape spanning IT and Operational Technology. You will work with senior stakeholders, delivery teams and technology partners to define roadmaps, standards and target-state architectures supporting significant investment and digitalisation initiatives. The position suits an experienced Enterprise Architect comfortable influencing strategy, driving architectural decision-making and operating at Head of Architecture level. Day rate is £500 to £600, inside IR35.

A leading organisation within the energy and critical infrastructure sector is seeking a Senior Enterprise Architect to help shape the future of a major business and technology transformation programme.

Operating as the deputy to the Architecture Lead, youll provide architecture governance, assurance and strategic direction across a complex landscape spanning both IT and Operational Technology (OT). Youll work closely with senior stakeholders, delivery teams and technology partners to define roadmaps, standards and target-state architectures that support significant investment and digitalisation initiatives.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Enterprise Architect who enjoys influencing strategy, driving architectural decision-making and operating at Head of Architecture level.

Key Skills & Experience

Enterprise Architecture leadership within large, complex organisations
Architecture governance, assurance and design authority experience
Large-scale transformation and digitalisation programmes
Strong stakeholder management at executive level
IT and Operational Technology (OT) architecture exposure
Utilities, energy or other asset-intensive industries preferred

Location: Remote-first with occasional travel (typically once per month).
