Senior Estimator

This role is for a Senior Estimator based in Northampton, working Monday to Friday with flexible hours between 07:00 and 18:00. The salary is £45,000 to £65,000 depending on experience. The successful candidate will review drawings, specifications and tender documentation, and prepare detailed cost estimates and take-offs for roofing and cladding projects. They will also obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, produce accurate tender submissions within required timescales, and identify potential risks, opportunities and value engineering options. Roofing and cladding experience is essential for this position.

What You'll Do

As a Roofing & Cladding Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders while supporting the commercial success of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Preparing detailed cost estimates and take-offs for roofing and cladding projects
• Obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Producing accurate tender submissions within required timescales
• Identifying potential risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors, and internal project teams
• Supporting contract handovers to project delivery teams upon successful award
• Maintaining strong supplier and subcontractor relationships
• Monitoring market trends and material pricing to ensure competitive quotations

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the roofing and cladding industry
• Strong understanding of roofing systems, rainscreen cladding, composite panels, and associated products
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience producing detailed cost estimates and tenders
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously
• Full UK driving licence preferred
