Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer

This is a key technical leadership role for a Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer based in Marlborough, Wiltshire, offered on an initial six-month contract and exempt from IR35. You will lead propulsion system development from concept through to qualification and in-service support, evaluating and integrating gas turbine, rocket, reciprocating engine, battery-electric and emerging propulsion technologies. Responsibilities include owning system requirements, architecture, interfaces, configuration control and technical baselines, leading testing activities, analysing results and resolving technical issues, and mentoring engineers while providing technical leadership across projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams covering structures, avionics, controls and software.

What You'll Do

• Lead propulsion system development from concept through to qualification and in-service support.

What You'll Bring

• Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of propulsion systems, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, combustion and/or electric drive technologies.
• Proven experience delivering propulsion or complex aerospace systems through multiple lifecycle stages.
• Strong systems engineering expertise including requirements management, verification and validation, interfaces and risk management.
• Experience planning and leading complex testing programmes.
• Competency with engineering analysis, modelling and CAD tools.
• Ability to obtain and maintain UK security clearance.
