Senior Quantity Surveyor (Structural Steel)

This is a senior commercial role with one of the UK's leading civil engineering, building structures and infrastructure contractors, based in London and offered on a contract basis. As Senior Quantity Surveyor (Structural Steel), you will act as commercial lead on high-profile projects, taking full commercial ownership from handover through to final account. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining and managing project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts and monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), and providing clear analysis of performance, margins, risks and opportunities. You will also measure and value completed works and prepare interim applications.

They currently have an immediate requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience managing and delivering structural steel projects, including Commercial Buildings, Sheds & Industrial projects, Bridges and Structures within the infrastructure sectors.

As the ideal candidate, you will be able to act as commercial lead on high-profile projects, managing commercial and contractual performance from mobilisation through to final account.

Senior Quantity Surveyor (Structural Steel) responsibilities:

• Take full commercial ownership of projects from handover through to final account.
• Develop, maintain and manage project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts and monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Able to provide clear analysis of performance, margins, risks and opportunities.
• Measure and value completed works, preparing interim applications for payment and ensuring all variations are accurately captured and recovered.
• Manage project change control processes, pricing, submission and agreement of variations, and compensation events.
• Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.

Senior Quantity Surveyor (Structural Steel) experience:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification and relevant experience
• Main Contractor or Tier 2 experience, with Self-Delivery experience an advantage.
• Previous experience delivering Structural Steel projects, including Commercial Buildings, Sheds & Industrial projects, Bridges and Structures.
• Familiar with NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
• UK experience delivering structural Steel projects through to Final Accounts.
• Experience managing and training junior staff.
