About this role

This permanent Site Management Specialist role with a global investment organisation is based at Broad Street and offers a salary of £110,000 to £140,000 per annum plus bonus and package. Working within electrical and infrastructure engineering in London, you will support major data centre developments, critical infrastructure projects and technically complex facilities across international locations. Job Description

Site Management Specialist | Electrical & Infrastructure Engineering

London | Global Infrastructure | Permanent

Ncounter is recruiting an ambitious engineer to join a global investment organisation undertaking a significant expansion of its technology infrastructure. This is an opportunity for someone early in their engineering career to work on major data centre developments, critical infrastructure projects and technically complex facilities across international locations.
With substantial investment in high-performance computing, new data centres and global office infrastructure, the scale of engineering involved is exceptional. You'll gain exposure to multi-megawatt infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced engineers and specialist contractors to help design, develop and deliver the physical environments supporting demanding computing operations.

The Opportunity

This position combines electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge with technical project delivery. Rather than maintaining individual facilities, you'll help develop the infrastructure needed to support increasingly powerful computing environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the design and delivery of data centres, infrastructure expansions and technical office fit-outs.
  • Working across electrical power distribution, cooling, capacity planning and resilient infrastructure.
  • Coordinating engineering consultants, contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Understanding infrastructure requirements across compute, storage and networking environments.
  • Supporting technical specifications, design standards, commissioning and project delivery.
  • Contributing to infrastructure monitoring, operational improvements and capacity management.

Your Background

We're particularly interested in engineers with:

  • A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services or a related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase power systems and electrical diagrams.
  • Exposure to M&E engineering, power distribution or critical infrastructure.
  • Some practical experience supporting engineering projects and coordinating technical stakeholders.
  • An interest in UPS, redundancy, HVAC, cooling systems or Building Management Systems.

Experience gained within engineering consultancies, data centre environments or other technically demanding industries would be particularly relevant.

International travel is part of the opportunity, with no regular on-call requirement.
For an engineer looking to progress beyond individual projects and contribute to the development of a substantial global infrastructure estate, this is an excellent career opportunity. Contact Ncounter to discuss the position in confidence.
