We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to join a major marine and port infrastructure project, delivering a significant programme of works to upgrade and extend the operational life of an existing Berth

This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager with a strong background in marine civils, heavy civil engineering, ports, infrastructure or complex works within live operational environments.

The Project

The project involves a range of technically challenging works, including:

Strengthening the existing rear crane beam.

Replacement of front and rear quay crane rails to facilitate the introduction of larger cranes.

Replacement of front crane beam stow pin sockets.

Diversion, protection and reinstatement of existing utilities and drainage.

Excavation, backfilling and reinstatement of pavements.

Replacement of end-of-life fender systems, including the supply and installation of 10 fenders plus 5 spares, complete with panels, chains, ladders and associated fixings.

Design and installation of specialist crane rail fixing systems, including coordination of specialist subcontractors.

The works will be undertaken within a live operational port environment, requiring excellent planning, communication and coordination around existing infrastructure, services and ongoing crane operations.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of works on site, working closely with the Project Manager, engineering team, client and specialist subcontractors.

You will be responsible for:

Managing day-to-day site operations and coordinating site activities.

Ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.

Coordinating multiple trades, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.

Working closely with the client and wider project team within a live operational environment.

Managing site logistics, permits, sequencing and interfaces with existing infrastructure.

Ensuring RAMS, inspections and quality requirements are implemented effectively.

Monitoring progress and identifying potential programme or delivery issues.

Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

About You

We are looking for a Site Manager with proven experience delivering complex civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

Experience within marine, ports, quay structures, heavy civils or other live operational environments would be highly advantageous.

You should be confident managing subcontractors, coordinating complex site activities and working around existing services and operational infrastructure.

Strong communication, organisation and leadership skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to health, safety, quality and programme delivery.
