About this role

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is based in Harlesden, North West London, within a welcoming primary school. We are currently recruiting for a welcoming primary school in Brent, North West London, seeking a committed and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Support children with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Help pupils develop their academic, social and emotional skills.
  • Support positive behaviour management and encourage independence.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
We are looking for someone who:
  • Has experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • Is patient, caring, reliable and enthusiastic.
  • Has strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Is proactive and confident in supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable, but not essential).
