About this role

This role is for a Tray Former Minder based in Huntingdon, working set day or night shifts. Core hours are 43.5 per week, with flexibility to work a consistent 44–48 hours where required by the needs of the business. Salary is dependent on experience. The purpose of the role is to set up and operate tray forming machinery safely and efficiently, producing quality trays to the required works order and customer specification. Responsibilities include checking works orders, materials, tooling, nesting blocks and adhesive before production, monitoring production, carrying out required quality checks, and completing production and quality documentation accurately.

Job Description

Role: Tray Former Minder

Location: St Neots

Hours: Set day or night shift

6am to 3pm Monday to Thursday and 6am to 1:30pm Friday (43.5 hours)

Or

5pm to 5am Monday to Thursday (up to 48 hours)

Core hours are 43.5 per week, with flexibility to work a consistent 44-48 hours where required by the needs of the business.

Salary: Dependent On Experience

Purpose of a Tray Former Minder:

To set up and operate tray forming machinery safely and efficiently, producing quality trays to the required works order and customer specification.

Key Responsibilities of a Tray Former Minder:

  • Set up and operate tray former machinery correctly and safely.
  • Check works orders, materials, tooling, nesting blocks and adhesive before production.
  • Ensure pallet identification matches the correct works order.
  • Monitor production and carry out required quality checks.
  • Identify, isolate and label non-conforming products.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Report production, machinery, material and quality issues to the Plant Manager or senior manager.
  • Ensure production operatives work correctly and safely on designated machinery.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness within the Finishing Department.
  • Complete cleaning and maintenance schedules.
  • Follow all company health & safety and quality procedures.
  • Support production targets and minimise waste.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the business.

Person Specification

  • Manufacturing, production or finishing experience preferred.
  • Experience operating machinery desirable.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow works orders and production instructions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, responsible and safety-conscious.
  • Able to identify and report quality or production issues.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and business requirements.
  • Tray forming, carton converting or packaging experience desirable.
