Director of Software Engineering

Remote based in the UKI with occasional travel

Overview

A senior leadership role owning end-to-end engineering delivery, and commercial outcomes for a UK and global healthcare software supplier. You will drive product growth, lead global platform convergence, and embed AI as a core productivity and differentiation capability.

This role will be overseeing software engineering delivery for well established, market leading products at a point where customer led requirements will drive future development effort. You will also be leveraging AI across the software engineering organisation. A great time to join. This will suit someone who has previously owned and can drive strategic decision making across a Software Engineering organisation.

Genuine growth potential

This role is UKI focussed initially, and has genuine growth potential with a road to VP, which would include owning engineering for UKI and EU products.

Key Responsibilities for the Director of Software Engineering:

• Own Software Engineering end to end: architecture, delivery, and lifecycle for UKI productsandnbsp;
• Drive revenue growth through differentiated capabilities, faster time to value, and commercial execution
• Deliver high-quality, mission-critical, regulated clinical software with clear accountability for outcomes
• Lead AI-first transformation across platforms, and engineering practices, improving velocity, quality, and cost to serve
• Partner with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Services, and Support to accelerate go-to-market, implementations, renewals, and expansion
• Lead globally distributed teams with strong execution discipline and outcome-based accountability- headcount of 65+ across UK and India

Skills andamp; Experience for the Director of Software Engineering:

• Proven director level ownership of Software Engineering covering workforce transformation, AI strategy andamp; governance and global scale delivery
• Strong commercial mindset with a track record of delivering growth for a software vendor/author and owning software portfolios of circa andpound;100Mandnbsp;
• Experience delivering large-scale, regulated or mission-critical platformsandnbsp;
• Demonstrated success leading AI-enabled or technology-led transformation
• Strong cross-functional influence and stakeholder engagement skills with Customers, Product Management, Sales andamp; Marketing, Support and Professional Services
• Experience leading global, multi-time-zone teams, 70+ headcount
• Knowledge of regulated software environments such as healthcare desirable
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)
• OK with remote based role and occasional travel to international company offices and customer sitesandnbsp;
