The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of an established Mandamp;E contractor looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Site Manager for a pharmaceutical project in Surrey.

This is a 9-month contract paying -400 per day Outside IR35, offering the opportunity to take responsibility for the day-to-day site delivery of the mechanical works on a technically demanding project.

Working alongside the Mechanical Project Manager and wider MEP team, you will manage site labour and specialist subcontractors, ensuring the mechanical installation is delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standards.



The Role

As Mechanical Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of mechanical works on site, with a strong focus on installation, subcontractor management, Health andamp; Safety, quality and programme.

You will oversee the mechanical installation through to testing, commissioning, snagging and final handover.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of mechanical works on site
  • Manage Mechanical Supervisors, site labour and specialist subcontractors
  • Oversee HVAC, pipework, plant and associated mechanical installations
  • Coordinate daily and weekly site activities
  • Monitor progress against programme and key project milestones
  • Ensure subcontractors are working to approved drawings and specifications
  • Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are followed
  • Carry out site inspections and maintain high standards of Health andamp; Safety
  • Coordinate mechanical installations with electrical and other trades
  • Monitor installation quality and manage QA documentation
  • Identify and report potential programme or technical issues
  • Attend site coordination and progress meetings
  • Manage materials, deliveries and site logistics relating to the mechanical works
  • Oversee snagging and close-out activities
  • Support testing and commissioning
  • Drive the mechanical installation through to successful handover


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager within Mandamp;E / Building Services
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installations
  • Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and site teams
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, pipework and plant installations
  • Pharmaceutical, life sciences, laboratory or similarly technical project experience would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Strong Health andamp; Safety knowledge
  • Good understanding of QA, testing and commissioning
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Relevant Mechanical / Building Services qualification
  • SMSTS or equivalent
  • CSCS card
