A well-established secondary school in Luton is looking to appoint a reliable, hardworking and practical School Caretaker to join its dedicated premises team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the school's buildings, grounds and facilities are safe, secure, well-maintained and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

The Role

As a School Caretaker, your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site.
• Ensuring buildings and grounds are kept clean, safe and well presented.
• Conducting regular premises checks and reporting any maintenance or safety issues.
• Opening and securing the school buildings as required.
• Monitoring heating, lighting, alarms and other site systems.
• Assisting with deliveries, contractors and visitors.
• Supporting basic grounds maintenance and outdoor upkeep.
• Responding promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
• Supporting the school's health and safety procedures.
• Carrying out other reasonable duties to support the smooth running of the school.
