Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: -35,000 - -45,000 p.a
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Mon-Fri

An exciting opportunity for a Synthetic Chemist to join an innovative materials technology company developing advanced chemical solutions for industrial applications used across filtration, purification and bioprocessing applications. This role is ideally suited to an early-career chemist with practical synthetic chemistry experience gained in industry or through a highly relevant postgraduate research project.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory-based synthesis and product development activities.
• Design, develop and optimise synthetic routes.
• Perform synthesis, purification and characterisation of chemical compounds.
• Analyse and interpret experimental data to support Randamp;D activities.
• Support new product development and technology expansion projects.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and identify innovative solutions.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary Randamp;D team to deliver project objectives.

About You

• Degree, MSc or PhD in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Proven hands-on experience in organic synthesis or synthetic chemistry gained through industry or a highly relevant research project.
• Knowledge of polymer chemistry, coatings or materials science.
• Strong practical laboratory skills, including reaction set-up, purification and characterisation techniques.
• Ability to analyse data and solve technical problems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Enthusiastic and motivated to develop a career within a commercial Randamp;D environment.
